Cipher supports academic programmes to expand the understanding of intellectual property including at CIP, Berkeley, IfM and the University of Cambridge.
We promote debate in the IP community by seeking feedback and sharing our views through surveys, articles and conferences.
Cipher is proud to be a founding member of SPIF bringing interoperability and efficiency to patent information users.

Health and Well-being
Cipher cares about the health and well-being of our people. Our polices and practices promote employee health and wellness and recognise and empathise where support is needed.
Our Machine Learning efficiencies have contributed to high CPU efficiency and the reduction of CO2 emissions
Hybrid Working Model
Our working model allows employees to work in part from home. This reduction in travel has significantly impacted our commuter emissions. We use flexible office space which minimises our physical and carbon footprint.
We are conscious and intentional about the corporate travel we undertake. We encourage employees to minimise air miles and maximise technology where possible.
We are learning about our carbon footprint and embrace opportunities to do business more sustainably and reduce our carbon footprint.
Our Local Community
We give our time and support to charitable organisations with each employee allocated a day a year to carry out Philanthropy activities.
We offer student coaching and mentorship in community schools.
We provide internships and paid work experience opportunities to young people.
Employee Philanthropy Day 2022
Each staff member at Cipher is entitled to take a day to volunteer, or to do charitable work. How the day is spent is entirely up to the employee – our staff have joined in on national and local projects.
In June, three Cipher staff members signed up to mark World Oceans Day with a clean-up of the River Thames foreshore.
