IAM and WTR Conference
IP Risk Management
To kickstart 2022, we sponsored IAM and WTR’s IP Risk Management conference. The virtual event looked at how IP leaders can develop effective risk mitigation strategies that will ultimately protect their organisation’s greatest and most expensive asset.
Based on the findings of our report, Management of Patent Risk: why proactive engagement costs less, we know that 81% of patent owners will face patent risks in the next two years, yet only 56% report on patent risk when there’s a significant issue. Access to the data and communication with the board on this topic are two of the main challenges IP leaders face when trying to mitigate patent risks. How can patent professionals and boards alike start taking a proactive approach to IP risk management?
Our CEO and co-author of our risk report, Nigel Swycher, moderated a panel that touched on this communication issue. The panel, Communicating the importance of IP risk management business wide, discussed:
- Embedding an IP risk aware company culture within the evolving business environment
- Explaining IP risk in the boardroom; how to get the C-suite on board
- The role of training and communication, from entry level positions to senior executive
