We recently investigated the impact that the UPC could have on the chemicals industry, finding that for a large company producing chemicals across multiple countries in UPC territories, the UPC could be a valuable path to protecting their IP. However, there are also potential risks, with Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs) now having a new avenue for patent litigation.
